Cameron Powell Updated Specialism Proposal

Overview: What I will be doing

For my Specialism Project, I will be developing some concept images of characters in a superhero world.

My work will have an art style inspired by Japanese Animation, so I will be taking inspiration from some of the most popular examples of anime, as well as comic book superheroes from the likes of DC and Marvel.

I will be sketching all my ideas on paper and document them on my blog, explaining what they are and what inspired me to make them.

Afterwards, I will redraw my concepts on Adobe Photoshop to make some improvements with my designs.

In addition, I will try my hand at experimenting with different art styles, looking at other artists and their drawing methods.

In the end, I will evaluate my experience throughout the project.

Methodology: How I will do this

For Starters, I will develop a mind map on what I will deliver for my project.

Then, I will document my work called Blogger. Every week, I will make a new post on the progress of my Specialism Project.

I will also develop a mood board, showing sources that I took inspiration from and explaining how they inspired me on my Production post.

For drawing in different art styles, I will look at other artists and see how other people develop their skills. One useful source to look at would be FZD School, a YouTube channel dedicated to design tutorials.

Furthermore, I will try my hand at designing my characters with non-drawing mediums, such as sculpting and 3D modelling. Since I am primarily aiming for an anime aesthetic, I will look at tutorials for designing anime characters in 3D.

Desirables: Why I want to do this

The reason I am doing this is because I want to share my creative skills and interests with the world. I enjoy media centred around Anime and Superheroes and I want other people to enjoy my creative character concepts and inspire them to design their own characters in an anime art style.

  1. Good just make sure you research how other artists do concept work etc and demonstrate what you have learnt from them in your own practice,
